1/10: FROM THE DESK OF GEORGE WASHINGTON
Saturday, September 18, 2021

Good Morrow, countrymen...this review is eternal. There will be spoilers here...As a mystery, this is abject and utter failure. As a leftist fever dream of how many multicultural boxes you can check, they really nailed it. To be fair, a few groups weren't represented, but overall, it's an impressive bit of pandering...heck, they even snuck in a plug for breastfeeding rights at work. So huge bravo for incorporating all the PC you possible could into an 8-episode miniseries. Would it be too much to simply make a show that wasn't trying so hard to represent everyone? It should be natural...it's jarringly forced here. The problem with the stunt casting is you know that the killer is going to be a white guy...and they didn't disappoint in that regard at all. All the episodes are filled with Red Herrings and false leads, but I repeat myself, just like this series...

7/10: Modern day online
Sunday, September 19, 2021

Wild story that unfortunately is all too real today.Nick Brewer (Adrian Grenier) is a man with a wife, Sophie (Betty Gabriel) and two sons. One day, a youtube message goes viral - there is a beaten up Nick, holding up a sign that says I Abuse Women - adding that at 5 million hits, he will die.Wife Sophie and sister Pia go to the police, who do start working on the case, but it's slow going. Meanwhile those clicks are piling up. Neither woman has any idea what this is about or who has kidnapped Nick. The story expands into situations involving dating sites - multiple ones, where Nick under different names has a presence. A woman who claims to be his girlfriend and soulmate (Jessica Collins) comes forward. There is then an effort to locate the other women in his life.Anyone who watches the ID channel or Dr. Phil knows that, as insane as these stories are, they...

7/10: The dangers of catfishing
Sunday, August 29, 2021

I was gripped from the first episode. Quite a captivating show from start to finish. The acting is very good and the situation feels all to real. This could easily happen in reality and sometimes you feel you're watching a doco. I was also taken by surprise by the plot twist in the last episode. I thought I had it figured out. It shows the real dangers of cat fishing, there will be a few gullible people who believe in everything they read and see online without reality to guide them. Online behavior can have some scary consequences. Some nagging issues I found was the inability to track the website source. Surely in the 21st century a cybercrime unit would be able to do this. Also when Emma Beadsley came for a police interview I found it odd that the photos were never taken from her as tangible evidence. The metadata was obtained by a young teenager. Also when...

6/10: Most gripping- Poorly made show
Friday, September 17, 2021

Despite there being a million plot holes and bad acting, this show is still quite gripping. Yes the actors' performances are average at best and also yes some of the characters are stupid as sh! T and the others too annoying. Yet at the end of every episode you're like what's next. The writing may not be neat, but it leaves you curious at the end of each episode. For me the series started off well with the first episode being about the Sister, then came the second episode that of the detective which was bad bad bad. The next few episodes were decent and the third last episode very good. This show is worth watching for the 6th episode itself imo. Even the penultimate episode is good. But then as you may have guessed already the final episode is _____.This is really that kind of show that is not very well made but will still hook you...

9/10: Really worth the watch
Wednesday, September 1, 2021

Wow. This has to be hands down one of the best shows I have seen for a very, very long time. To be honest I was not expecting much. I saw the trailer and was intrigued but not terribly excited. I watched one episode and was hooked. I ended up watching the whole series in one sitting. This show really plays with you. You never really know whether Nick is a good guy or not. There are so many things going on that all fall into place at the end. So many times they make you suspect someone and it's never that person. You will literally never guess the killer at all. It was a shockingly wonderful twist, I loved it. The storytelling is amazing, I love how we get a viewpoint from so many different characters. The writing is fantastic and the acting is absolutely brilliant, especially from the two female leads; the sister and the wife. I...
